2020 was a challenging year for children, families, schools, and communities because of the world-wide Covid-19 pandemic. This was especially the case for individuals with autism spectrum and developmental disorders. Despite these challenges, Inizio Interventions maintained its high level of performance in 2020.

We are excited to share the highlights below from our 2020 Annual Report, a report that examines the services we provided to children and families over the last calendar year.

1. The 173 children served in 2020 was 5% more, and the total hours of direct service was 11% greater, than our previous three-year average.
2. To support clients during the Covid-19 pandemic, we adapted quickly by transforming service modalities. This included use of telehealth, distance learning, and remote access computer tools such as Zoom.
3. Thirty-six new clients began treatment with an average age of six.
4. At 2020 year-end, Inizio had 104 staff members, which was 3% more than one year earlier.
5. Examination of the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Tool (VB-MAPP) revealed that children made steady improvement over time—the longer the children received services, the greater their development gain.
6. 2020 Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales (VABS) results showed that internalizing and externalizing problem behaviors declined by between one-half and one standard deviations, a statistically significant result. This shows that the children served were able to function successfully.
